IUPUI Chancellor Charles Bantz delivers the annual State of Diversity report in the ornate Indiana Roof Ballroom.

Gospel Music from the "Voices of Liberty" provided a spirited start to the evening's program, and a backdrop to the meal.

The IUPUI Black Student Union co-sponsors the annual event. BSU President and IUPUI Sigma Phi Chapter member, Bryan Harvey, gave words of welcome.

Brothers from Iota Lambda occupied a central table near the Indiana Roof stage. Representing I Lam were (in alphabetical order) Brothers Crutchfield (Chapter President), Henderson, Lindsey, McGhee, Squires, Warren, and Woodall.

Close by the Alpha Alumni table was a gathering of our College Brothers from Sigma Phi and their guests.

The Keynote Speaker was world-renowned author, speaker, philanthropist, and chief of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr.

The erudite and personable Dr. Carson combined a warm message of encouragement, spirituality, and humor.
Iota Lambda Chapter President William Crutchfield briefly recognized the contingent of Alpha Men in attendance, before reading and presenting an attractively-framed proclamation honoring Dr. Carson in memory of Dr. King. (Click here for award detail).
