Alpha
Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through the efforts of Iota Lambda
- Indianapolis Alumni Chapter - and other area brothers, annually
manifests our presence at this national celebration of African
American history, entrepreneurship, and culture. Indiana
Black Expo Summer Celebration is considered one of
the largest cultural events annually in the nation. Iota Lambda
Chapter believes that this is a premier opportunity to showcase
Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind - as demonstrated
in the activities of the Fraternity in Central Indiana.
This
year, the Iota Lambda has renewed its determination to strive
for Alpha Alumni Chapter of the year at all levels. As evidence
of its achievements and resolve in this endeavor, in-depth presentations
were developed for Indiana District and Midwestern Regional competitions.
The major elements of these displays were incorporated in this
year's exhibit booth for the information and enjoyment of all
visitors to Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration 2006.
Two major
display panels presented photo essays and various awards and historical
items about the Fraternity and this Chapter. A dynamic computer-video
presentation gave visitors a glimpse into Alpha Phi Alpha and
Iota Lambda historically and today. Additional information included
comprehensive print media about the Chapter and Fraternity, as
well as information on the National Memorial to Br. Rev., Dr.
M. L. King.
This year's
booth committee was chaired by Br. Kirk Hawkins assisted by Br.
President William Lindsey, Br. Jeffrey Musgrove (technology) and
Br. Ed Squires (advisor). Below are photos of the booth, individual
display elements, committee members, and some of the many Brothers
who worked the booth as well as a few of the visitors who came
to visit.
