In
2009, Iota Lambda Chapter returned to its traditional Black and
Gold Scholarship Ball format under the sponsorship of its 501c3
affiliate, Alphamen, Inc. This year's black tie gala was again
held at the Marriott
Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, Friday evening, December
4, on our Founders Day. (A separate "Brothers Only"
commemoration was scheduled for the local Founders Day observance).
The
format consisted of a reception in the hotel's Circle
City Bar and Grill, a video presentation highlighting the past
year for Iota Lambda Chapter, and a silent auction before and
during the dinner program. Dinner itself was held in the adjacent
Indiana Ballroom. The program consisting of brief introductory
remarks and an invocation, followed by the Marriott's respected
banquet cuisine, presentation of Alpha Man of the Year from Chapter
President, William Lindsey, to 2009 recipient Br. Curtis Hollis,
and an evening of dynamic entertainment from the famous Zapp
Band. It was a stellar event which both entertained the
approximately 300 attendees and sought funding for our educational
initiatives. Congratulations to the Brothers who worked so diligently
on the event and our gratitude to all who supported it.
