On June 18, 2008, Iota Lambda Chapter initiated a groundbreaking program adopting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Methodist Hospital for special support. This initiative is a local expansion upon the national partnership between Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the Central Indiana March of Dimes/March for babies. Details on the program and photographs of the inaugural event are provided below. The "Alpha Cares" program has already received Fraternal recognition at the regional and national levels. Program details and photos are courtesy of Br. Mark J. Webster.

Purpose of Program

Is to adopt the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Methodist Hospital and to provide assistance to staff and families of Unit. By adopting NICU unit this allows the families the support they need during the development of their child during the stay in the Neo Natal Unit.
