On
June 18, 2008, Iota Lambda Chapter initiated a groundbreaking
program adopting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Methodist
Hospital for special support. This initiative is a local expansion
upon the national partnership between Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity
and the Central Indiana March of Dimes/March for babies. Details
on the program and photographs of the inaugural event are provided
below. The "Alpha Cares" program has already received
Fraternal recognition at the regional and national levels. Program

Purpose
of Program
Is
to adopt the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Methodist
Hospital and to provide assistance to staff and families of Unit.
By adopting NICU unit this allows the families the support they
need during the development of their child during the stay in
the Neo Natal Unit.
