103rd Anniversary Convention - New Orleans, Louisiana

In 2009, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity returned to beautiful New Orleans for the Fraternity's 103rd Anniversary Convention. The several days at the Hilton Hotel on the Mississippi waterfront, included the business of Alpha along with an incredible agenda of discussion panels, workshops, competitions, and public programs. Luminaries from entertainment, media, academics, and public service punctuated the activities. Among the signature events were a Mardi Gras style reception, a public program including awards and a tribute to Motown, a special panel of "Alphas in Hollywood", a morning youth event "From High Chair to Higher Education", the closing Black and Gold gala, and a unique "Daughters of Alpha" program.
